Plot Water Level v Precipitation - Multiple Boreholes

RockWorks | Borehole Manager | Aquifers | Hydrograph Map

This program is used to read water levels for a specified aquifer from the borehole database for all enabled boreholes, and precipitation data from the RockWorks datasheet, and generate a map with mini-hydrograph diagrams at each borehole location. The individual diagrams use the same settings as those in the Utilities | Hydrology | Hydrograph program; the primary difference is that the Aquifers menu program reads the water level data from the Water Levels table within the Borehole Manager database.

Step-by-Step Summary

  1. If necessary, create a data listing in the RockWorks datasheet in which precipitation measurements and dates are listed.

! Click the Example button at the top of the window to load a sample file that is installed with the program.

  2. Access the Borehole Manager program tab.
  3. Enter/import your data into the Borehole Manager, if you have not done so already. This tool reads Location and Water Level data.
  4. Enable/disable the boreholes to be included in the map by inserting/removing the checks from their check-boxes.
  5. Select the Borehole Operations | Aquifers | Hydrograph Map command.
  6. Enter the requested program settings, described above.
  7. Click the Continue button to proceed with map generation.

RockWorks will read the water level elevations and dates from the borehole database, and the precipitation measurements and dates from the datasheet. It will generate a hydrograph diagram for each enabled borehole representing these data, using the requested settings. The completed hydrograph map will be displayed in a RockPlot2D tab if requested.

  8. You can adjust any of the program settings in the main Options pane to the left and then click the Continue button again to regenerate the map.
  9. View / save / manipulate / print / export the map in the RockPlot2D window.
