Data Editor Files Introduction

LogPlot data files that you create in the Data Editor window are stored on disk as XML files with a file name extension of ".ldat8". Within the .ldat8 file the different kinds of log data are grouped into distinct blocks, and that is how LogPlot distinguishes lithologic descriptions from curve data, from downhole symbols, etc.

LogPlot lets you keep more than one data file open at any time. Click on a link below for tips on data file management (opening, saving, etc.).
