Save a Data Template

Use the Data Editor's File | Save as Template menu option to save the data layout of the current data file to a Data Template file (LDAT8X file). All of the datasheets in the current file are saved in the template, just without any data. You can then create new data files based on the saved template.

  1. Open the data file whose structure you wish to save as a Data Template (LDAT8X file).
  2. Select the File | Save As Template menu option.

LogPlot will display a standard Windows Save As dialog box, in which you can specify the name under which the file is to be saved. The default file name extension is ".Ldat8x".

  3. Type in the name for the template file (accessing other drives or directories as necessary).
  4. Click the Save button.

The program will save the data layout under the specified file name, in the specified location. You can use this template as a starting point for new data files.
