Changes you have made to the current data file displayed in the Editor can be saved to a RockWorks17 or RockWorks20 database using the File | Save to RockWorks DB menu option. Be sure that the current project folder in LogPlot is the RockWorks project folder containing the database to be updated.
There are several ways this process can proceed. The options arise because RockWorks and LogPlot use data differently - there is not a one-to-one correspondence between the two programs. It is important to understand the differences so that you don't lose data in the transfer.
If the current data file originated in RockWorks, and you have simply modified some of the data values, you can just save the data back to the RockWorks database.
- Select File | Save to RockWorks DB. You will see a window which offers several choices.
- Select the layout template:
- Choose Base Import on Data File as the layout template.
If changes were made to data values only, all of the data fields will still match up between LogPlot and RockWorks.
- Next step:
- Click OK to push the data from LogPlot back to the RockWorks database.
- Click Backup if you want to back up the RockWorks database first, then be returned to this window, where you can then click OK or Cancel.
- Click Cancel to cancel the save operation.
If the current data file originated in RockWorks, and you have added new data pages to the file:
- Select File | Save to RockWorks DB. You will see a window which offers several choices.
- Select the layout template:

- You will see a window which offers several choices.
