Open RockWorks Borehole Records using the Project Manager

LogPlot has the ability to load borehole records from a RockWorks17 and RockWorks20 database. It can read SQLite, MDB, and SQL Server databases.

 

  1. Open the RockWorks17 or RockWorks20 Project Folder into the LogPlot Project Manager pane.
  2. Expand the Project Manager's Data Files | RockWorks Boreholes heading, as necessary.
  3. Double-click on the name of the borehole you wish to open.

LogPlot will load the selected data into the Data Editor window. You can have multiple files open in the Data Editor at the same time.

 

  1. 1. Expand the Program Manager's RockWorks Database heading, as necessary.
  2. 2. Click on the name of the first borehole you want to open.
  3. 3. Hold down the <Shift> key and click to select additional adjacent names. Or, hold down the <Crtl> key and click on non-adjacent names to select them.
  4. 4. Right-click in the File Manager.
  5. 5. Choose Open Selected Files from the pop-up menu.

LogPlot will load the selected data into the Data Editor window. You can have multiple files open in the Data Editor at the same time.

There are a few other housekeeping details you'll need to do so that your RockWorks borehole data can be displayed in a LogPlot log:

 

  1. Use LogPlot's Tools | Edit Keywords option to access the Keyword Editor.
  2. Use the Keyword Editor's File | Import | RockWorks Project menu option to import your RockWorks Lithology Types Table or Stratigraphy Types Table into LogPlot.
  3. Use the Keyword Editor's File | Append to Current File option to append the keywords to your existing table.
