The Map Overlays tab is offered in most RockWorks map windows. It offers several map types displaying symbols and labels, polylines, polygons, borehole symbols, and land grids which can be used as overlay layers in your maps.
- Map Overlays
Check this item to include one or more of the following map types as a layer in the map you are about to create.
- Point Symbols
Check this option if you want to generate a symbol map for XY locations in the RockWorks Datasheet and include that as a map layer.

- Faults
Check this option to include polylines representing faults as a map layer.
Click this tab to set up the fault layer settings. (More info)
- Borehole Locations
Check this option to include your borehole locations as a map layer.
Click this tab to set up the borehole mapping options. (More info)
- Infrastructure
Check this option to include a plan-view map layer with building, road, pipe, and other infrastructure locations read from a text file.

- US Public Land Grid
Check this option to include a map layer with Range / Township / Section borders.

- Polygons
Check this option to include a map layer illustrating single or multiple polygons.
