Open a Different Pattern File

LogPlot permits you to maintain different versions of your pattern (and keyword and symbol) files for use with different data sets. Default LogPlot file names are established under the Options | System Files menu. The factory default Pattern file is named "LogPlot8.RwPat" installed in C:\ProgramData\RockWare\LogPlot8.

If you wish to open a different Pattern file, you can do so right within the Select Pattern window: The Pattern file you open will then become the default file within LogPlot.

  1. Click on the File button in the upper-right portion of the Select Pattern window.
  2. Choose the Open option.

  3. From the displayed dialog box, select the name of the Pattern file that you wish to display in the Select Pattern window and/or the Pattern Editor, accessing other drives or folders as necessary. Note that Pattern files have the file name extension ".RwPat." This can be a file created in LogPlot8 or one from another RockWare program, such as RockWorks.
! See the link below for importing older PAT files.
  4. Click the Open button to accept the selected Pattern file name.

LogPlot will display the pattern designs contained in the selected Pattern file.

! This now is the active Pattern file. The program will use this Pattern file during compiling of logs, and this file will be listed as default under Options | System Files.
