Combining Pattern Files

LogPlot permits you to import into the current pattern file (.RwPat file) one or more sequential pattern designs from a separate LogPlot8 or RockWorks ".RwPat" pattern file. This allows you to combine pattern tables.

  1. Click on the File button on the right side of the Select Pattern window.
  2. Select the Import | Selected Patterns (*.RwPat, *.Pat) option.
  3. Enter the requested information:
  4. Click OK.

LogPlot will import the designated block of patterns from the other file to the designated location in the current Pattern file.

! Any existing patterns at those locations will be overwritten. The patterns in the other file will remain intact.

  5. To save the changes to the current Pattern table, click on the File | Save command.

Let's say you have modified a Pattern Table for work with a particular set of projects, and have saved this library as "my_patterns.RwPat". Then you discover that you need to add some of the patterns contained in the RockWare factory Pattern file, specifically patterns 1 - 10. Your current pattern table's first available space is number 20. Simply click on the File | Import | Selected Patterns button, enter "LogPlot8.RwPat" as the input file, enter 1 and 10 for the From and To prompts, and enter "20" for the Insert Starting At number. The blank spaces starting at #20 will now be filled with the factory patterns #1 - #10.
