Import Patterns from Old PAT Files

LogPlot permits you to import and update the contents of an older ".pat" pattern file from earlier versions of the software into a new .RwPat format compatible with LogPlot8. This is helpful if you have created your own customized pattern libraries in LogPlot7 or previous and would like to use them with the new version.

1. Click on the File button on the right side of the Select Pattern window.
   
2. Select the Import | Older Patterns (*.Pat) option.
   
3. Enter the requested information:
   • Save file: you will be prompted whether you want to save the contents of the current pattern file before you do the import. We strongly advise you to choose Yes unless you are certain that any recent changes have already been saved.
   • • File Name: Type in the name to assign to the current .RwPat file.

   • Open Pattern file: Now, browse for the name of the .PAT file you wish to import and update.
   • Save Pattern File: Finally, type in the name to assign to the updated version of your pattern library, browsing to the desired folder.

4. Click OK.
   

LogPlot will import all of the patterns from the older .PAT file iinto the Select Pattern window display. The contents will be saved under the file name and folder you specified, as displayed at the top of the window.
