Transferr Borehole Locations to the Datasheet

RockWorks | Borehole Manager | File | Locations -> Datasheet

This program will populate the current RockWorks Datasheet with Location table data for selected boreholes in the current project. All required fields (Collar Coordinates tab) will transfer; you can define which of the Other Coordinates fields, if any, will be passed to the datasheet. The datasheet will be built with a specific column order. Enabled boreholes will be flagged with "True" in the output Enabled column; disabled boreholes will be flagged "False". Field names and units will transfer to the datasheet's column headings.

Menu Options
Step-by-Step Summary

Boreholes: Click this tab to select which boreholes are to be transferred.
- All Boreholes (Enabled and Disable): Choose this option to transfer to the Datasheet the location data for ALL holes in the Borehole Manager database.
- Only Enabled Boreholes: Choose this option to transfer the location data for only the currently ENABLED boreholes to the RockWorks Datasheet program tab.
- Currently Highlighted Borehole (Single Borehole): Choose this option to transfer the location data for a SINGLE borehole only.
  - Current Borehole Name: This will default to the currently-selected borehole in the Borehole Manager. Click the down-arrow to the right to select a different borehole name from the displayed list.
Fields: Click on this tab to define which data, in addition to the standard data from the Collar Coordinates tab, are to be transferred.
- Other Coordinate Projection Fields to Transfer: Choose none/any/all of the following:
  - Local Coordinates: Check this option to transfer the data stored in the Local fields.
  - Longitude/Latitude: Check this option to transfer the data stored in the Lon/Lat fields.
  - PLSS (Public Land Survey System): Check this option to transfer the data stored in the PLSS fields.
  - State Plane: Check this option to transfer the data stored in the State Plane fields.
  - UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator): Check this option to transfer the data stored in the UTM fields.
  - Other Projection: Check this option to transfer the data stored in the custom projection fields.
- Transfer the Coordinates at Total Depth: Check this box to have RockWorks compute the XYZ coordinates at the TD of the borehole, and include them in the transfer to the Datasheet.

Open the project containing the data to be transferred, if necessary.
Access the RockWorks Borehole Manager program tab.
Choose the File | Locations -> Datasheet menu option.
Set up the transfer settings, described above.
Click the Continue button to proceed.
The program will read the Location table's Collar Coordinates fields for the selected boreholes and copy this information to columns in the Datasheet program tab. Exported fields include borehole name, enabled status, easting, northing, surface elevation, collar elevation, total depth, Google Earth Icon, and well symbol. Any additional fields in the database's Other Coordinate Projection fields which you've requested will be listed to the right of these standard fields. Column titles and units will be included.
Save the datasheet, if desired, using the File | Save option. These datasheets are stored as .rwDat files.

Use the Utilities | Map | Point Symbols program to create a quick point map of the borehole locations.
Use the Utilities | Map | Triangulation Contours program to create a quick contour map of the surface elevations.
Use the ModOps | Grid | Create | XYZ - Grid program to interpolate a grid model of the surface elevations and generate a 2D contour map and/or 3D surface display.
If you make editing changes you can transfer the data back to the Borehole Manager Location table using the Datasheet's | File | Transfer | Locations -> Borehole Manager program.
