RockWorks | Utilities | Stats | Box Plot
This program is used to read data from the datasheet and display those in comparison with one another in a box plot.
Menu Options
Step-by-Step Summary
- Components: Use these prompts to define which columns in the data sheet contain the requested data values and to define a color for each one.
- Plot: Check the box to enable each sample, taken from the data sheet, that contains the data for this group of points. Only components selected to Plot will be shown in the final diagram.
- Data Column: Select the column in the data sheet that contains the data for this group of points. Choose as many items as you need from the datasheet in the data column dropdown menus.
- Color: Click the colored portion of the rectangle to select the color for the points from the RockWorks template colors. Use the dropper button to select any color off of your computer screen, you will see the colored portion of the rectangle change when you click on a color because it's 'selected'.
- Options
- Diagram Size: To omit any of these labels, simply delete any text listed in the field(s).
- Upper: Enter the text to be used to label the upper vertex of the triangle. Be sure this matches the data itself, declared in the Data Columns tab.
- Plot Labels: Type in a number to specify the label size to go along with the Box Plot.
- Add: Select the additional layers you wish to incorporate into the map, inserting a check-mark in those you wish to include. Establish the settings for each activated layer; Other 2D files, Peripherals, and Border. See 2D Map Layers for more information.
- Output Options
- Access the RockWorks Datasheet program tab.
- Enter/open/import your data to be analyzed into the datasheet.
- Select the Utilities | Stats | Box Plot menu option.
- In the displayed dialog box enter the requested information, discussed above.
- Click the Continue button to process.
- The program will read the data points in the enabled (checked) rows in the datasheet, and display the results in the requested output as a Box Plot.
