After you have installed the program, RockWorks will now:
- Copy some folders of tutorial data files to your "Documents" folder (in "\RockWorks Data\Samples")
- Initialize all of the program’s variables to factory defaults.
- Display the main program window, loading the Samples project.
What now?
- Activate your license (if you have purchased one) or continue using the program in Trial mode.
- Get familiarized with the RockWorks data windows: Datasheet and Borehole Manager.
- Run through some of the sample tutorials.
- See Getting Started Checklist for some important tips regarding the Borehole Manager when you are ready to enter your own data.
- See Getting Started Checklist-Datasheet if you are working in that interface.
- See General Preferences for some settings that affect how the program window is set up.
If you’ve already installed and run RockWorks before, follow these steps to start up the program:
- Locate the RockWare grouping in your Windows Apps listing, and click on RockWorks20xx. *
Or locate the RockWorks20xx program icon on your Desktop or Taskbar.- If you have already licensed the program, you'll be brought to the program screen where you can continue your work.
If you are running the program in "Trialware" mode, you will see the number of sessions and the number of days you have left in your trial period. Click the Continue to RockWorks button to proceed to the program window.
If you are running the program in "Trialware" mode and if the days/sessions are used up, you can:
- Click the Continue to Free Viewers button to use the free 2D, 3D and page layout programs in RockWorks.
- Click the Set Up Licensing button if you have purchased a license and need to activate it.
- Or, contact RockWare to obtain an Extension Code if you need more time to evaluate the software.
* Note that the program name is "RockWorks2020" in the year "2020" and increments to "RockWorks2021" the year 2021, and so on. Thus you will see the use of the name "RockWorks20xx" or just "RockWorks20" in this documentation.
