RockWorks | ModOps | Solid | Statistics | Extract Values From Solid
This program is used to extract values from a solid model using specific XYZ coordinates stored in the RockWorks Datasheet.
! Before you begin, ensure that the source data is displayed in the main RockWorks data sheet.
See also the Solid Residuals program and Scattergram program for for tools that will display observed data values versus computed node values.

Step-by-Step Summary
Be sure you have loaded the datasheet with the XYZ information you want to use before opening this program.
- Data Columns: Select datasheet columns for each menu item; X, Y , and Z for Input and for Output choose a column to save the extracted values into.
-
- Solid File: Click to the right to browse for the name of the existing solid model file (.RwMod) to be read and extracted from.
- Options: Insert a check here if the solid model selected above contains G values that represent percent, such as percent sand. If checked, the program will compute "Material Volume" and list this in the output report.
-
- To Source Datasheet: Writes values directly into the current RockWorks datasheet.
- New Tab: Outputs data to a Report that includes the original XYZ data and extracted G-values.
- Output Options: Click this tab to define the output format(s) for the extracted value report. (More info)
- RwDat (RockWorks): Click in this button if you want the report generated in a RockWorks datasheet (.RwDat) format.
- CSV (Excel): Click in this button if you want the report generated in a CSV file format for use in Excel.
- TXT (Notepad): Click in this button if you want the report generated in a text (.txt) format.
- RTF (Word): Click in this button if you want the report generated in an RTF file format for use in Word.
- Access the RockWorks Datasheet program tab and ensure that the Datasheet includes columns for Easting (X) values, Northing (Y) values, and Elevation (Z) values.
- Select the ModOps | Solid | Statistics | Extract Values From Solid menu option.
- Enter the requested menu settings, described above.
- Click the Continue button to proceed.
The program will read the indicated solid model file and extract values for the XYZ locations identified. The extract summary will be displayed in the selected output format(s).
- From here you can print the information, copy it to the clipboard for pasting into another application, save the information on disk, etc.
