- What's New: Link to the What's New topic for changes since RockWorks17.
- Opening a RockWorks17 project into RockWorks20xx *: Very easy! The project database will be updated for the new version and copied to a new project folder. You can can request that it copy all of your datasheets, models, graphics, and other files into the new folder automatically, as well, to get right to work. (More info)
- Automatic licensing: You can activate your license right from within the RockWorks licensing window.
- Window Layout:
- The overall program window looks similar, but with a number of new features. See the Quick Tour topic for details.
- You can dock and undock all of the main program tabs, such as docking the Project Manager on the left side of the screen (as it was in RockWorks17).
- Save window arrangements as personal Layouts for quick retrieval.
- The upper menu ribbon doesn't change as you toggle from the Borehole Manager to the Datasheet or other main tabs. All programs are available in the ribbon at all times.
- We have re-arranged a few of the menu items, so if you can't find something, use the Search button at the top of the main program to search for program names or keywords.
- Program Layout
- Tabs: Inside each RockWorks program dialog, we've replaced the expand/collapse settings with clickable tabs for easier access.
- Playlist: Use the Playlist button at the top of the program windows to add the program and its current settings to the new Playlist. (More info)
- Favorites: Use the Favorites button at the top of the program windows to add that program to your list of Favorite programs for quick access.
- Faults tab: We've simplified the process of entering faults into the database, applying them to your models, and including them in your diagrams.
* Note that the program name is "RockWorks2020" in the year "2020" and increments to "RockWorks2021" the year 2021, and so on. Thus you will see the use of the name "RockWorks20xx" or just "RockWorks20" in this documentation.
