As described in the topic Add Programs to a Playlist, the main function of a playlist is to automate program functions. However, in addition to listing programs, you can also add other special items to a playlist. These include production items such as comments, as well as mechanical items such as opening datasheets and setting project dimensions. These items are available in the Add menu at the top of the Playlist pane.
! The number of items - both programs and special items - you can save and run in a Playlist 1s dependent on the feature level of RockWorks:
- Basic level: 5 Items
- Standard level: 5 Items
- Advanced level: Unlimited Items
- Backup the Database: Create a backup of the database, which will be stored in the project's Backup sub-folder. You can enter a description of the backup for reference.
- Comment: Add a descriptive label within the playlist for organization, such as "July 3 plume model" or "Pitosi structure map".
- Launch Program: This command permits you to launch an external program from within the playlist. You can include an optional Parameter String that can be used to pass information to the program that is being executed, such as the name of a file to be loaded.
- Load Datasheet: Load a previously-saved datasheet (.RwDat file) for processing by a playlist program item.
- New Datasheet: Create a new, blank datasheet (.RwDat file).
- Pause: Pause the playlist and display the user-entered message. The message box includes an "OK" button to continue the playlist and a "Cancel" button to cancel the playlist, requiring user interaction.
- Project Dimensions: Update the project dimensions for subsequent items in the playlist. (See also loading subsite dimensions.)
- Save Datasheet: Save the current datasheet with a defined name. This is typically used to save a datasheet which has been generated by a previous playlist item.
- Set Project Folder: Establish the name of the project folder to be loaded for subsequent items in the playlist.
- Sound Completion Notification: Play an audible sound at that point in the playlist to alert the user. Choose from several types of sounds or have a synthesized voice read a specific message.
- SQL Statement: Processe a SQL statement, such as turning on/off certain boreholes, for subsequent playlist items.
- Stop Processing Playlist: Stop the playlist.
- Sublist: Add a playlist to a playlist. (Advanced level users only.)
- Terminate RockWorks: Close RockWorks.
- Click on the Playlist tab in the main RockWorks program window.
- If necessary, open the existing playlist to which you want to add items, or create a new playlist for the items.
- Click the Add button at the top of the playlist pane.
- In the pop-up menu you will see the list of items which are available, described above; select the item to add.
- Establish the settings for that item.
- Click OK or Continue to add the item to the playlist.
