This program reads saved Top and Base existing grid files (.RwGrd) and the output is two new grids. The program can shift the top or bottom surface down or up (respectively) or shift both surfaces to an average value.

Grid Selection
- Input Grids: Click to the right to select the name of the existing grid files (.RwGrd) that the program is to read as the Top and Base Surfaces.
- Output Grids: Click to the right to enter the name to assign to the new grid files for Top and Base that the program will create, which results from the pinchout operation.
Options
- Adjust Surface
  - Bottom to Top Surface: Choose this for the program to adjust the Bottom surface up to the Top Surface selected, honoring the minimum thickness if defined.
  - Both to Midpoint: Choose this option to shift both grids to meet at an average value.
  - Top to Bottom Surface: Choose this adjust the Top surface down to the Bottom Surface selected, honoring the minimum thickness if defined.
- Thickness: This setting defines the minimum thickness you wish to see between the two grids in the final pinchout display.
- Polygon: Enter the Polygon points you with to use. These are stored in a polygon table or selected from a Rw2D Polygon file. Choose the option to either Filter Interior or Exterior points for the display of the final diagram.
- Step-by-Step Summary
  1. Be sure you have RockWorks grids (.RwGrd file) for the Top and Base surfaces already created, for input into this program.
  2. Select the ModOps | Grid | Filters | Pinchout Fliter menu option.
  3. Enter the requested menu settings, described above.
  4. Click the Continue button to proceed.
    The program can shift the top or bottom surface down or up (respectively) or shift both surfaces to meet at an average value. This is meant to help pinch out a unit based on a minimum thickness between the two original grids, or based on polygons stored in a polygon table or an RW2D file.
    
    The requested diagram(s) will be displayed in a RockPlot2D tab
  5. You can adjust any of the settings in the Options window and then click the Continue button again to regenerate the diagram(s).
  6. View / save / manipulate / export / print the diagram in the RockPlot2D or RockPlot3D window.
