"LAS" stands for Log ASCII Standard, established by the Canadian Well Logging Society. This is a data format that is commonly used for recording downhole geophysical and other data.
The LogPlot Data Editor's LAS import tool reads LAS files, version 1.2 - 2 for import into a multi-column "Point-Data" datasheet. You can select the curves in the LAS file to be imported, and you can request that the header information be imported into "Edit-Text" fields for display in the log header or footer.
In this tutorial, you will go through the steps listed below. We recommend that you do these lessons in order; each one can be accessed from the previous step by clicking the "

! We highly recommend that you complete an earlier section of this tutorial (Compile a Simple Lithology Log) before continuing. This will acquaint you with the general layout of the program.
