RockWorks | Borehole Manager | File | Export | P-Data
This program will export to a variety of formats (RwDat, CSV (Excel), Text, RTF, and Shape) the borehole ID, depths, XYZ coordinates, and "G" value for a selected P-Data track for selected boreholes. This can be used to verify data stored in the database, or to model the data in another program.
Menu Options
Step-by-Step Summary
- Spatial Filter: Insert a check in this box at the top of the program window to activate a data filter based on spatial coordinates. Click this button to enter the filter settings. Click the Return to Previous Menu button when you are done entering the filter settings. (More info)
- Boreholes to Include: Click this tab to define which holes to include in the export.
- All boreholes (enabled and disabled): Click in this button if the selected P-Data in ALL boreholes in the current project should be exported.
- Only Enabled Boreholes: Click in this button if only the data in the enabled (checked) boreholes are to be exported.
- Currently Highlighted Borehole (Single Borehole): Choose this option to export the P-Data for the current borehole only.
- Current Borehole Name: This will default to the currently-selected borehole in the Borehole Manager. Click the down-arrow to the right to select a different borehole name from the displayed list.
- Point Data Track
- Track: Select the track or column in the Point (P-Data) tables containing the data values (G values) to be exported.
- G-Value Filter: Check this box to establish a data filter based on the measured values. Click this tab to establish the filter parameters (More info)
- Resample: Check this box to resample the data at regularly-spaced intervals. Click this tab to select the resampling options. (More info)
Note: The Resampling option will be automatically disabled if anything other than "All Samples" (below) is selected.
- Create Filter / Sampling Report: If you've selected any filter/resampling options, this tool will create a summary report of the results. (More.)
- Data Type: Click this tab to define what P-Data values to export.
- All Samples: Choose this for all P-Data measurements for the selected track and the selected boreholes to be exported.
- Lowest Value in Each Borehole: Only the single, lowest P-Data value for the selected track for each borehole is to be recorded in the output file.
- Highest Value in Each Borehole: Only the single, highest P-Data value for the selected track for each borehole will be recorded to the output file.
- Sum Of All Values in Each Borehole: Output the sum of all values for the selected track for each requested borehole to the exported file. For non-vertical boreholes, the xyz coordinates for this point will correspond with the last (lowest) P-data point in the borehole.
- Average I-Data Value for Each Borehole: The average of all of the values for the selected track for each requested borehole will be recorded in the output file. or non-vertical boreholes, the xyz coordinates for this point will correspond with the last (lowest) P-data point in the borehole.
- Output Options
Click this tab to define the output format(s) for the exported data. You can select multiple options.
- RwDat (RockWorks): Check this option for the P-Data to be exported to a RockWorks datasheet (.RwDat) format. (More info)
- CSV (Excel): Check this option for the P-Data to be exported to a CSV file format for use in Excel. (More info)
- TXT (Notepad): Check this option for the P-Data to be exported to a text (.txt) format. (More info)
- RTF (Word): Check this option for the P-Data to be exported to an RTF file format for use in Word. (More info)
- SHP (ArcMap): Check this option for the P-Data to be exported to a Shapefile format. Click on this tab to set up the Shapefile options.
- Output (Shape) File:: Click to the right to type in a name to assign the Shapefile to be created. The exporter will also create the accompanying .SHX and .DBF files.
Point based data (P-Data) exports as point (PointZ) files only.
- Access the RockWorks Borehole Manager program tab.
- Be sure there is P-data listed for one or more boreholes.
- Be sure the boreholes to be processed (if more than one) are shown as Enabled in the borehole listing.
- Select the File | Export | P-Data program option.
- Enter the requested menu settings, described above.
- Click the Continue button to proceed.
The program will extract the selected data from the database, and record the borehole ID, depths, XYZ coordinates, and "G" value in the requested output file(s).
