How it's used: A Water Level column is used to plot a standard water-level symbol and/or a pattern-filled block at a user-declared depth or depth range, for single or multiple aquifers, for all or specific dates. The Water Levels can overlay other columns, such as a Construction column in the example below.
How it works: As you compile your log in LogPlot, the program will locate a Water Level datasheet with the same name as the column in the design and plot (1) a standard water level symbol at the top depth and/or (2) a pattern-filled bar between the top and base depths. If you have dates specified in the data file, you can filter for a single date, a date range or all dates at compile time.
Alternatives: Use a Symbol column to plot user-selected symbols at defined depths.
! Tip: You can place a Water Level column right on top of another log design entity, such as a Well Construction column.
Name: Enter the name for this Water Level column. Any data in the LogPlot data file that is flagged with the same name will be plotted in this column.
Position: These coordinates determine the horizontal placement of the Water Level column in the body of the log. The horizontal coordinates are expressed in decimal inches or centimeters relative to the left edge of the design screen. You may change the column's position by editing these values, or by widening/narrowing the column itself on the work screen (see Moving and Resizing Log Body Components). The water level symbol and/or pattern block will fill the defined column space.
Symbol:
Color: Use the color box to choose a color for the water level symbol.
Filled Symbol: Check this box if the triangle portion of the symbol is to be filled with the selected color. If left unchecked, it will plot with outlines only.
Interval: If you have defined in the datasheet a top and base depth for the aquifer, these settings can be used to illustrate the water-bearing intervals.
Plot Line to Base: Check this box if you want to plot an "extender" from the base of the water level symbol to the base of the interval.
Fill Background: Check this box if the entire interval is to be filled with pattern or color.
Pattern: This option will plot the pattern associated with the Aquifer name listed in the datasheet.
Color: this option fills the interval with a solid color.
Frame Column: If this box is checked, the column will be bounded by a solid-line rectangle.
