Open a Different Keyword File

LogPlot permits you to maintain different versions of your keyword (and pattern and symbol) files for use with different data sets. When you first enter the Keyword Editor, the program will display the name of the currently-selected keyword file in the title bar of the Editor window. (Default LogPlot file names are established under the Options | Program Files menu item.) The factory default keyword file is named "LogPlot8.lpkey" installed in the C:\ProgramData\RockWare\LogPlot8 folder.

If you wish to open a different LogPlot keyword file for use in the Keyword Editor, you can do so right within the Editor itself:

  1. Click on the File button at the bottom of the Keyword Editor window.

  2. Choose the Open option.
  3. From the displayed dialog box, select the name of the keyword file that you wish to display in the Editor, accessing other drives or folders as necessary. Note that LogPlot8 keyword files have the file name extension ".lpkey".
  4. Click the Open button to accept the selected keyword file name. You can open a keyword file created in LogPlot2001, LogPlot2003, LogPlot2005, and LogPlot 7.

LogPlot will load the information in the selected keyword file into the Editor.

! Note that this now is the active keyword file, and its name will be displayed in the title bar at the top of the Keyword Editor window. The program will use this keyword file during compiling of logs, and this file will now be listed as default under Options | System Files.

! If you wish to open a keyword file created in LogPlot7 or from a RockWorks project, you must use the Import option.
