Save the Keyword File under a New Name

Some LogPlot users like to keep a large, comprehensive keyword listing, that they use with all of their projects. These people typically use the default "LogPlot8.lpkey" keyword file, add all their new keywords to that file, and save the file to its default location, in the ProgramData folder. (C:\ProgramData\RockWare\LogPlot8)

However, there are also some LogPlot users that like to keep small, project-specific lists of keywords. They typically save a keyword file in each project folder, under a unique name, with additions and deletions to the keyword listing based on that project.

To save a keyword file under a new name, follow these steps.

1. Access the Keyword Editor. This will open the default keyword file.
   
2. Select the File button at the bottom of the Keyword Editor window.
   
3. Choose the Save As command.

   

4. In the displayed window, enter the name under which you wish to save the keyword listing, accessing other drives or folders as necessary. Note that keyword files must have the file name extension "lpkey."
   
5. Click on the Save button to save the keywords under the new file name.
   

! Note that this is now considered to be the name of the active keyword file, and the name will be displayed in the title bar at the top of the Keyword Editor window. The program will use this keyword file during compiling of logs, and this file will be listed as default under Options | System Files.
