Log Design Files Introduction

Log designs that you create in the Log Designer are stored on disk as XML-style "Log Design" files or "LDFX8" files, with an ".ldfx8" file name extension. Log Design files can be thought of as the "blueprint" for the log. They contain the layout for the log header(s), body, and footer(s). This will tell the LogPlot program where and how all of your different data types will be plotted.

The file that is displayed in the Log Designer is considered to be the default Log Design fileto be used in LogPlot when you compile your log. The name of the current log design is also displayed in the Log Designer program tab.
