Convert a Line to a 2D Fault

RockWorks: Line - Vertical Fault

Faults | Import | Line -> 2D Fault

This program creates a 2D fault based on two user-defined endpoints. The fault is stored in the project Fault table and can be used to apply faulting to grid surfaces.

Step-by-Step Summary



  1. Access the RockWorks Faults program tab.
  2. Select the Faults | Import | Line -> 2D Fault menu option.
  3. Enter the requested menu settings, described above.
  4. Click the Continue button to proceed.

    RockWorks will read the location coordinates for the line and store this 2D fault in the Faults table in the project database.

  5. You can now use this fault, along with other enabled faults in the Fault table, when creating a surface model and applying faulting.
