Borehole Manager | File | Check Data Integrity
This RockWorks program offers some troubleshooting tools:
- It checks the contents of your current project database against the general program data dictionaries, like the Check Database Integrity tool.
- It reads the data records themselves to check for problems: TD entries that are shallower than the actual well data, mis-ordered stratigraphic units.
- Items to be checked
- Database Structure: Check this to have the program check the structure of the database, like the Check Database Integrity program.
- Inconsistent Stratigraphy: Check this to have the program review the Stratigraphy data for problems with consistent formation order.
- Lithology Depth Gaps and Overlaps: Check this to have RockWorks give you a report on Lithology data with mis-matching depth sequences - gaps or overlaps between one interval's depth to base and the next interval's depth to top.
- Duplicate Data at Same Depths
-
- Check the quantitative data types that you want to check for duplicate records at the same depth.
- Fix Duplicate Data: Check this if you want RockWorks to fix the data. Leave this unchecked if you want it to report only, with no changes to the data.
! RockWorks deletes duplicates by keeping the first record of the multiples and deleting the rest. Be cautious.
- Adjust Total Depths
-
- Set TD (Total Depth) to Deepest Value: Select this option to have the program automatically set the TD lin the Location table to the deepest data entry in the database, regardless of the current TD value.
- Set TD (Total Depth ) to Deepest Value only if Deeper than Current TD: Choose this to do the same as above but only if the current TD is shallower than that. (The program won't change the TD to be shallower than it is.)
- Report Only TDs Different Than Deepest Value - No Changes Made to the Database: With this option you get a report only, no change to the data.
- Access the Borehole Manager program tab as necessary.
- Open the project to be checked.
- Select the File | Check Data Integrity command.
- Enter the menu options described above.
- Click the Continue button.
The program will scan your project database and compare its structure to the current data dictionaries. It will fix any discrepancies that it can and it will create a report summarizing the status and display it in a text window. It will then scan the data you have entered. Any fixes requested will be preformed. Results will be listed in the report window.
