Follow these steps to reposition a solid model slice. This assumes that you have already displayed an isosurface or all-voxel solid model, and you have inserted horizontal and/or vertical slices. (If not, see Isosurface Settings, Voxel Model Settings, or Color Model Settings.)
- Right-click on the name of the slice to be modified (in the data pane of RockPlot3D) and choose Options. Or just double-click on the slice's icon or name to access its setings.
- Position: In the Slice Options window, locate this section. You will see a slider bar and a position marker that notes the current position of the selected slice.
- Drag the slider from left to right to reposition the slice.
- If you move the Options window out of the way, you should be able to see the slice move in real time in the View pane.
- And, if you can see the Data listing in the right-hand pane, you should be able to see the actual coordinate or elevation position of the slice updated in that window.
! As you drag the slider bar and see the slice move, you can also get a preview of the change in G value distribution in the slice - the colors will change. That way you can move the slice directly to hot-spots.
