AGS Import - Data Source
  1. Start the import by selecting the File | Import | AGS Data Format option from the Borehole Manager menu. The program will display the import wizard window.
  2. Import Filename: Click the open-file button to the right to browse for the name of the AGS file to be imported.
(Note that if you've used this tool previously and have saved the data file name and data settings in a Template, jump directly to #7, below.)

RockWorks will scan the input file.

  3. Include the Data file name in the Template: If you're going to save the import settings to a template (see below), check this box if you want to include the name of this input file in the template. This can be helpful if you know that will be importing from this same file again. However, leaving the file name out of the template (by leaving this box unchecked) can make the template more flexible for use with other input files.
  4. Use the View Project Details button to view information about the project, name, location, client, engineer, etc. ("PROJ" block.)

In the View Project Information window, you can save these data to the RockWorks Project Notes table by clicking the Add to Project Notes button. You can view the actual data by clicking the View Structure button.
  5. Use the View Associate Files button to view a list of any associated files which are defined in the AGS "FILE" block. As above, click the View Structure button to see the actual AGS data.
  6. Use the View Transmission Details button to view a list of information stored in the AGS "TRAN" block.

In the View Data File Transmission Information window, you can save these data to the RockWorks Project Notes table by clicking the Add to Project Notes button. You can view the actual data by clicking the View Structure button.
  7. At the bottom of the Select Data Source window, you'll see a Template File area.
  8. Click Next to proceed to the next step.
