Database Import - Lithology

This step is used to define the fields for the Lithology to be imported. If you don't want to import Lithology at this time, you can simply click the Next button along the bottom of the window to proceed to the Pattern data import screen.

Step 10: Set up the Lithology Information.

1. Click the Choose the Table for Lithology Data button to select the table in the input file that contains the downhole lithology information. For acQuire database exports, this may be titled "Geology_Items".

   

   The program will load the Available Fields into the pane to the right.

2. Again, map the available fields, in the list to the right, to the RockWorks fields, by dragging them with your mouse.

   

   Be sure to map items to the required fields: Borehole Reference (the borehole ID), Depth to Top (FROM), and Depth to Base (TO), and Lithology (FORM) in this example. The Comment field is optional.

   

   ! Not sure what's what? Click the View Table Data button to view the source data table.

3. When the fields are mapped, click the Import Lithology button.
   ! This is really important. This import tool processes one table at a time, not all at once. If you don't click the button, the geology data will not be brought into the RockWorks database.

   

   During the import process, RockWorks will build the Lithology Types Table to contain the geology descriptions that were imported.

4. Click the Next button to proceed to the Pattern import.
   Or, click on the small drop-down arrow by the Next button to jump directly to the next import screen of interest.
