Use this RockWorks Datasheet program to compute basic statistics for the values stored in a single column in the datasheet. A filter may be applied.
See Program Preferences | Statistics to choose what items are calculated.
- Data Columns
- Input | Data Column: Click on this item to select the name of the column in the datasheet that contains the numeric values for which statistics will be calculated.
- Titles
- Primary: Enter the text to be plotted as the primary title at the top of the Statistics Report.
- Secondary: Enter the text to be plotted as the secondary title beneath the Primary Title at the top of the Statistics Report.
- Filter
- Minimum Cutoff: Insert a check in this box to apply a low-value data filter. Type into the prompt the minimum data value for which the statistics will be calculated. Values below that will be omitted from the calculations.
- Maximum Cutoff: Insert a check in this box to apply a high-value data filter. Type into the prompt the maximum data value for which the statistics will be calculated. Values greater than that will be omitted from the calculations.
- Output Options
- RwDat (RockWorks): Click in this button if you want the report generated in a RockWorks datasheet (.RwDat) format.
- Save Output File: Check this box to save the RwDat file on disk when the Process button is clicked.
- Automatic: Click here for the name of the file to be assigned automatically. ("UNISTATSxx.RwDat")
- Manual: Choose this option to type in a name for the .RwDat file.
- File Name: Click the Browse button to the right to type in the name for the RwDat file.
- Display Output: Check this box to display the RockWare datasheet file.
- New Tab: Click this button to view the RockWorks datasheet file in a new tab in this window.
- Datasheet: Click this option to view the RockWorks datasheet file in the main Datasheet tab.
- CSV (Excel): Click in this button if you want the report generated in a CSV file format for use in Excel.
- Output File Name
- Automatic: Choose this option for the name of the file to be assigned automatically.
- Manual: Choose this to type in a name for the .csv file.
- File Name: Click the Browse button to the right to type in the name for the .csv file.
- Display: Check this box if you want the .csv file to be loaded automatically into Excel after it is generated.
- TXT (Notepad): Click in this button if you want the report generated in a text (.txt) format.
- Save Output File: Check this box to save the text file on disk when the Process button is clicked.
- Automatic: Click here for the name of the file to be assigned automatically.
- Manual: Click here if you want to type in a name for the .txt file.
- File Name: Click the Browse button to the right to type in the name for the text file.
- Display Output: Check this box to display the text file.
- New Tab: Click here to view the text file in a new tab in this window.
- New Dialog: Click here to view the text file in a new window.
- Default Viewer: Click this button to view the text file in the default text editing program on your computer.
- RTF (Word): Click in this button if you want the report generated in an RTF file format for use in Word.
- Output File Name
- Automatic: Choose this option for the name of the file to be assigned automatically.
- Manual: Choose this option to type in a name for the .rtf file.
- File Name: Click the Browse button to the right to type in the name for the .rtf file.
- Display: Check this box if you want the .rtf file to be loaded automatically into Word after it is generated.
- Access the RockWorks Datasheet program tab.
- Enter/open/import your data into the datasheet.
- (Optional) Click in the column that contains the data values to be read.
- Do one of the following:
- Click on the Stats menu and select the Univariate option.
- Click on the Columns menu right above the datasheet and select Univariate.
- Right-click in the column and select Univariate.
- Enter the requested menu options, described above.
- Click the Process button at the bottom of the window to continue.
The program will perform a variety of calculations on the user-defined range of data and display the results in the requested output report.
