When you have compiled a log and it is displayed on the screen in an untitled View tab or stand-alone window, you can save your log plot on disk so that you can re-open it at a later time for viewing or printing.
Notes: Log diagrams that you create in the LogPlot program are stored on disk in a "log plot" format with an ".lpt8" file name extension. You can export logs to a different graphic file format; see exporting logs.
LPT8 files store the log scaling, continuous versus page-break, page headers and footers, margins, and page size and paper orientation (landscape versus portrait) so that when reopened they should appear as they did when first created. Bitmap images in the log header/footer or log body can also be either linked or embedded in the LPT8 file; these settings are established in the log design.
In typical Windows fashion, LogPlot will normally warn you if you try to close the View window if the log inside it has not been saved.
The name of the file will be displayed in the stick-up tab at the top of the docked LogView window, or in the title bar of an undocked, stand-alone window. If you have saved to the current project folder, this log will be displayed under the Compiled Logs heading in the Project Manager.
