Import a LogPlot7 (or earlier) Design File

Use the File |Import LogPlot7 Design Template menu option in the Log Designer menu to open LogPlot7 (.ldfx) and LogPlot 2001-2005 (.ldf) design files.

! If you wish to open LogPlot8 designs (.ldfx8), use the File | Open menu option instead.

1. Access the Log Designer tab.
2. Select the File | Import LogPlot7 Design Template menu option. The program will display the Import Older LogPlot Template dialog box.
3. Use the File Type drop-down to select the type of file to import: LDFX from LogPlot7, or LDF from LogPlot2001 - 2005.

   

4. Select the name of the log design file that you wish to view by highlighting its name and choosing the Open button.
5. You will see a window that says, "This file has been converted to a LogPlot8 format. Do you want to save it now?"
6. Click Yes if you wish to save the updated file with the same name (such as "Company Boring Log Template") in the same folder, with the new file name extension (".ldfx8") added automatically.

   Click No if you wish to save it manually (File | Save As) under a different name or in a different location.

The design will be displayed in the LogDesigner program window.
