Introduction
How to Edit the Data Page Name
See also
The Edit Data Page Name option is available as a right-click option from within many of the LogPlot datasheets. This option can also be selected from the LogPlot Data Editor's Data menu.
It is used to change the name of the current datasheet, displayed on the datasheet's tab, along its left edge. The importance of the name depends on the type of datasheet:
- For single-type datasheets (those that do not allow multiple columns of different data measurements) the name is very important - it is how LogPlot matches the data to an item in the log design.
Example: The data in a Lithology datasheet with the name of "Soil Descriptions" will link to the Lithology Description column in the log design with the same "Soil Descriptions" name.
-
- For multi-type datasheets, the name on the tab is used for organization only - you can assign any name you like. These datasheets rely on the column headings (or row headings for Edit-Text) to match the data to the log design.
Example: A Point Data datasheet with 4 columns of data use the column headings to match the curves in the log design. The name on the datasheet tab is used to group the columns.
-
- Click on the tab of the datasheet to be modified, to make it active.
- Right-click in any of the datasheet's cells.
- Select the Edit Data Page Name command from the pop-up menu.
- Enter the requested information.
- New Name: In the displayed window, type in the name for the datasheet. For single-type datasheets this must match, character-for-character, the name that is assigned to the corresponding item in the log design. The match is not case-sensitive.
- Click OK to continue.
LogPlot will display the new name on the datasheet's tab.
