Open a Sample Mudlog Data File

Time: 1 minute

  1. To return to the Data Editor window, click on the Data Editor tab to bring it to the front.

  2. Open a sample data file by locating the file "Mudlog1.ldat8" in the Data Files section of the Proect Manager, and double-clicking on it.

LogPlot data files have extensions ".LDAT8".

The program will display this file's datasheets in separate "tabs." Each tab has a picture that describes what kind of data it contains, and each is labeled with that data block's "name." These names correspond to the Design file's entity names. That's how the program will know to plot the curve data named "Butanes" into the curve column also named "Butanes." The program doesn't care what you name the data and design items, you just need to be sure that matching items have matching names.

  3. Take a moment, if you like, to click on different data tabs in this file to view the different kinds of data that are contained here. Feel free to click back and forth between the data file and the log design to see how the design items match up with the data tabs.
