LogPlot Program Files and File Types

The LogPlot program files are typically installed into the \Program Files\RockWare\LogPlot folder.

LogPlot system files - pattern and keyword libraries, program settings, etc. - are installed into the C:\ProgramData\RockWare\LogPlot folder.

 

.LDAT8 - Data files (XML format). Old-format .DAT files can be imported and updated to the new format.

.LDAT8X - Data file templates.

.LDFX8 - LogDesign files (XML format). Old-format .LDFX and .LDF files can be imported and updated to the new format.

\Previews\*.JPG - LogDesign preview files (JPEG format). Created by LogDesign automatically and stored in a "Previews" subfolder inside the folder where the LDFX8 file resides. Previews can be turned on/off in Options | System Settings.

.LPT8 – LogView files (binary proprietary format). Created after compiling your log. Old-format .LPT files cannot be read by LogView.

.btc8 – Batch load and run files LogPlot supports an XML file format with a file extension btc8 that can be used from the command line, or from the Windows File Manager by double-clicking on the file.

 

LogPlot sample files are copied to the following folder the first time the program is launched: Documents\LogPlot Data\Samples and its sub-folders.
