RockPlot3D | Animations | Isolevels
Use this program to create an animated view of your isosurface image, displaying increasing or decreasing isolevels in a sequential fashion. You can define the starting and ending isolevel, and increments.
This option is only available for isosurface diagrams.
Menu Options
Step-by-Step Summary
- Minimum: Enter here the minimum isolevel for the animation. The default will represent the lowest value in the model.
- Maximum: Enter here the maximum isolevel for the animation. The default will represent the hightest value in the model.
- Increment: In this prompt, enter the G value increments at which the isosurface is to be redrawn and captured in the animation. For your reference, the number of frames currently represented will be displayed. (Min-to-Max range / Increments)
- Order:
- Minimum -> Maximum: Choose this option to animate starting at the Minimum value and proceed toward the Maximum value.
- Maximum -> Minimum: Choose this otpion to animate starting at the Maximum value and proceeding toward the Minimum value.
- Output Options: Use these settings to define the animation output file type and display settings. (More info)
- If necessary, create or open the isosurface view that you wish to export. (See Opening a RockPlot3D Scene.)
- Adjust the image view to your satisfaction. This includes, but is not limited to, the rotation angle, zoomed-in state, vertical exaggeration, and window size. The animation view will look like the RockPlot3D view you have established.
- Select the Animations | Isolevels menu option. You should see a pop-up menu with the name(s) of the isosurface(s) in the current scene. Click on the name of the isosurface you wish to animate.
- Enter the menu options, described above.
- Click OK.
The program will build the animation using the settings you established.
! This process can be slow, depending on the resolution of your model and the number of frames requested.
The completed movie will be stored under the requested output file name. If you've requested that the animation be played automatically, the movie will be loaded into your default video player.
