Open a Different Vector Symbol File

LogPlot permits you to maintain different versions of your symbol (and keyword and pattern) files for use with different data sets. When the Select Symbol window is displayed, the name of the currently-selected symbol file in the title bar of the window. (Default LogPlot file names can be established under the Options | System Files window.) The factory default symbol file is named "rw_sym.sym" installed in the C:\ProgramData\RockWare\LogPlot8 folder.

If you wish to open a different symbol file, you can do so via Options | System Files. Or you can do so right within the Select Symbol window:

1. Click on the File button at the top of the Select Symbol window.
   
2. Choose the Open option.
   
3. Browse for the name of the vector symbol file that you wish to display in the Select Symbol window and/or the Symbol Editor, accessing other drives or folders as necessary. Note that vector symbol files have the file name extension "SYM."
   
4. Click the Open button to accept the selected symbol file name.
   

The program will display the symbol designs contained in the selected vector symbol file.

This now is the active symbol file, and its name will be displayed in the title bar at the top of the Select Symbol window. The program will use this symbol file during compiling of logs, and this file will be listed as default underOptions | System Files.
