Insert, Append, Delete Rows

When you right-click in a LogPlot datasheet, a pop-up menu will appear. The following Rows tools are available (not all are offered for all datasheets):

Rows | Append is used to add rows to the end of the active datasheet.

Rows | Insert is used to add rows within the data listing in the active datasheet.

Rows | Delete is used to delete rows in the active datasheet.

Rows | Go to is used to advance the cursor to a particular row in the active datasheet.

To add rows to the end of a datasheet, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the tab of the datasheet to which the rows are to be added, to make it active.
  2. Right-click in any of the cells within the datasheet. You should see a pop-up menu.
  3. Select the Rows | Append option from the pop-up menu.
  4. In the displayed dialog box, type in the number of rows to be added.
  5. Click OK.

LogPlot will add the requested number of rows to the datasheet.

! You will probably use this feature only when you are manually typing data into the datasheet. If, instead, you use the Paste command to insert data into the sheet, the program will expand the number of rows automatically to accommodate the pasted data.

! You can also use your mouse to click in the last row in the datasheet (to insert the cursor there) and press the Down-Arrow on your keyboard to add rows.

For your reference, the number of the row in which the cursor is currently located is listed at the bottom of the active datasheet.

To add rows to the middle of a data listing, follow these steps:

  1. Click in the tab of the datasheet to which the rows are to be added, to make it active.
  2. Right-click in any of the cells in the row above which the rows are to be added. You should see a pop-up menu.
  3. Select the Rows | Insert option from the pop-up menu.
  4. Enter the requested information:
  5. Click OK.

LogPlot will add the requested number of rows to the datasheet, above the indicated row.

! For your reference, the number of the row in which the cursor is currently located is listed at the bottom of the active datasheet.

To delete rows from a datasheet, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the tab for the datasheet from which the rows are to be deleted, to make it active.
  2. Right-click in any of the cells in the starting row to be deleted. You should see a pop-up menu.
  3. Select the Rows | Delete option from the pop-up menu.
  4. Enter the requested information:
  5. Click OK.

LogPlot will delete the requested number of rows from the datasheet, starting at the indicated row and deleting downward.

To jump to a particular row in the current datasheet, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the tab of the datasheet to be active.
  2. Right-click in any of the cells within the datasheet. You should see a pop-up menu.
  3. Select the Rows | Go to option from the pop-up menu.
  4. Number of row to go to: Type in the number of row to jump to. You can also click on the up- or down-arrow buttons until the correct number is displayed.
  5. Click OK.

LogPlot will move the cursor to the requested row in the active datasheet.
